MC, business proprietor, and social activist, the man born Hanif Collins, who would later go on to be known as Luck-One is a cutting edge lyricist set to revitalize his stagnating art form. A classically trained musician since childhood and son of an on-again, off-again jazz trumpeter, young Hanif’s approach to the music that would grow to be his life’s calling has always been dynamic in it’s approach.
The poignant social commentary and positive rhyme schemes he gained from being raised in a studious middle-class Muslim family are balanced out by a biting street perspective derived from real life experiences that caused him to spend over half-a decade in state prison.
Back on the scene after a hiatus, Luck teamed up production wiz, Dekk, to the critically acclaimed “Beautiful Music”, short length album released February 09 and just this October collaborated with DJBooth.net to put out “True Theory Outtakes’ a surprisingly high quality EP of material deemed not good enough for his forthcoming full length debut “True Theory” Thus far he’s shared the stage with national acts such as The Game, Bone Thugz N Harmony, Naughty By Nature, Zion I, Mike Jones, Andre Nicatina and One Be Lo amongst others, and will be releasing his full length March 8th.
Raz Simone is a Seattle artist who fuses different genres of music like folk, Rock, blues, opera, electronic, even movie scores with a solid raspy voice that is somewhere between rap, poetry and passionate conversation. Each song is a story, dialog, a blog entry, and one more chapter written in Raz's biography; no memoir. Raz prides himself in keeping each and every lyric real and true to the life he has lived. Luckily for his listeners the life he has lived has a lot of depth. From public to private school, from the pulpit to pimpin, from dope man to club owner, from guns to guitars, and from the streets to the suits.
Nick Weaver is a Seattle-born MC currently doing music in LA. With an emphasis on the stark lyricism that makes you listen, Nick leans towards the intricate stories in his rhymes. In the last year and a half, Nick has put out 4 mixtapes. His most recent mixtape "Forever Automatic" just hit bronze on DatPiff.com, breaking 25,000 total downloads.
