Analog synths. Indie-glam guitars. Electro beats. Jupe Jupe creates dark, dancey, escapist pop music you can move to. Jupe Jupe is composed of My Young on vocals and synthesizer, Bryan Manzo and Patrick Partington on guitar, and drummer Jarrod Arbini—veterans of the Seattle and Austin music scenes. Their first CD, “Invaders,” self-released in October 2010, is a microcosm of musical influences, designed to take the listener on a journey.
PRESS
“They’re obvious contemporaries of synth-laden bands like Chromeo, Cut Copy and Hot Chip...Vocalist My Young sounds like a volatile cocktail of equal parts Bryan Ferry, Dave Gahan and Simon Le Bon, and the band adds a starburst finish of midperiod Electric Light Orchestra to their sound as well…” - PopMatters
“..weird and wonderful...Well worth searching out.” - My Old Kentucky Blog
“...Jupe Jupe is utterly bouncy and almost effervescently cute. Sometimes ear candy is the best medicine.” - Aiding and Abetting
“Jupe Jupe are here to put the lift in your loafers and pep in your pumps with twelve ditties of grandiose electronic ambiance.” - Treble
“...a melodramatic, irresistible slice of neo-New Romantic synth pop...” -
